Toofan Panchayat Level Inauguration

To completely prevent the spread and use of narcotic substances in the state, the Kerala Police and the Local Self-Government Department are jointly implementing **Operation Thufan 2.0** with extensive public participation. Going beyond merely enforcing the law, the objective of the project is to coordinate the law-enforcement authority of the police with the strong grassroots network of the Local Self-Government Department and extend anti-drug activities to every ward and household. Along with preventive measures to curb the spread of drugs across the state, extensive awareness campaigns and strong, continuous monitoring at the local level are also required.
The **local-level inauguration of Operation Thufan 2.0 at Ponmunda Panchayat** will be held on **Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM**. The **Thufan flag** will be hoisted by the Honorable Panchayat President, **Shri. R. Komukutty**.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, the programme will include the **Thufan Pledge, announcement of Thufan Warriors, distribution of “Thufan Warrior” badges, an awareness session, and a video presentation**.
